You got me: Nail Magazine May 2010

I subscribe to Nails Magazine both electronically and my snail mail. These are the things that caught my eye.

CND's Shellac is suppose to apply like polish, but act more like UV gel. You apply the base coat, color coat and top coat then cure the application under a UV lamp. E-bay here I come because this is the last excuse I needed to purchase a UV lamp. There are even Shellac Remover Wraps. You don't have to soak or scrub, you simply saturate the wrap with acetone, wrap your finger and wait 10 minutes, and slide the wrap off. After searching CND's site vigorously I don't think this has launched just yet, but I can't wait to try it out and do a review. This is suppose to last 14 days. Now I change my looks way to often, but this would be great for a french mani when I'm going out of town or something. I wonder if the top coat will smear my konad designs...hmmmm

I may be the only one who cares because I want to become a nail technician myself, but did you know that Serena Williams is currently enrolled in classes to become a certified nail technician??? How neat it that???

OPI's 2010 Summer Collection, Summer Flutter, is scheduled to be released next month. I can't wait to get my hands on these colors.

Left to Right:
Flower-to-Flower, Flit a Bit, Wing It!, and Catch Me in Your Net

Fimo Slices that cover the nail. I never would have thought of that. You can slice your fimo canes, cover them with plastic wrap and use a rolling pin to flatten them out and then apply them to your nails using clear polish as adhesive. How neat! Check out C.A. Therien for a wide variety of fimo canes. You can even get them pre-sliced if you're like me, lazy. Here are a few I plan on getting in the next few weeks. Citrus Explosion week is coming up on LHCF.

And I just HAVE to have these:

My favorite part of Nails Magazine is the recipes for manis and pedis. I'm always up for trying out something new and with summer coming up pedicures are a HUGE concern. The Balinese Ginger Pedicure costs $75 in the salon, but you can do it yourself with the following ingredients: Jasmine essential oil, rose esential oil, organic ginger root, sesame seeds, coconut milk, lime, and honey. That sounds like a recipe for my tummy not my feet. The directions can be found here in Nails magazine.
I love reading Nails Magazine. It gets me so excited about my future. I can't wait to be a licensed nail tech. You can check out the entire magazine by clicking here.
